Guitarists very often tend to see themselves as "guitar slingers", trying to show all their skills on every solo on every tune, for me that has more to do with sports than music. Eivind Aarset is exactly the opposite, of course he can play, but he is wise enough to let the music flow through his guitar rather than coming from it. His music is truly refreshing, reminding us that an instrument is just a tool that helps the musician to bring into reality the music in his imagination. |
