March 19, 2006 Today I did a lot of recording, I have now about an hour of fretless bass and half an hour of electric guitar, that should be enough for the tune I guess. Tomorrow I'll chop the best parts and build the tune with them, also I must record some new melodies for the intro and outro. I need for this tune one rythm guitar track and a solo track. My old axe did a great job as usual, I just love the way it sounds. |

This is the guitar amp that I used for recording today, it's a Smokey Amp from Zinky Electronics, it allows me to play biting guitars at a low volume. The incorporated speaker sounds good (you can hear it in all guitars in "A Splinter In My Mind" ) but I used the speaker output from the Smokey and plugged the cord to the speaker from a bigger amp, a Musicman RD 112 One Hundred, so I got a fatter sound. I just placed a condenser mic in front of the speaker and started recording. |

For a more sustained sound I plugged this fuzz (with this settings) between the guitar and the Smokey, but turned down the guitar volume a bit to retain some dynamics. I had a great time playing guitar today...
