March 18, 2006 I just decided to cut out the Zappa influenced intro of the tune (I don't have a name for it yet), one thing that I dislike from other people's music is when they sound like a clone of another group. And I already tried that some years ago as you can see... That means hours of work ending in the recycle bin, but the tune will sound more like me. |

The keyboard solos from last weekend are 4, but just 3 are worth listening. I'm planning to place the guitar solo over the 3rd keyboard solo and erase the 2nd solo, the 3rd one is more rythmic than melodic, so I can play over it and try to follow it just like a regular musician follows another one in a real group... I also plan to record more fretless bass, since what I recorded last weekend is not enough, and may be adding some piano, but I'm not sure yet. What I have in mind now is a kind of jazzy tune with a lot of improvisations, in the spirit of Miles Davis "Tribute to Jack Johnson" album but in my own way. So it's time to go ahead and let the ideas came out from some obscure corner of my mind. |
